The Career of RPI Lacrosse Head Coach Scott Hackett-Dalgliesh

An alumnus of Olentangy High School in Ohio, Clifford “Cliff” Kigar is a mechanical engineering student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) with an expected graduation date of December 2019. Cliff Kigar was an All-American lacrosse player in high school and, in his final season at RPI, was coached by Scott Hackett-Dalgliesh.

A native of Maryland, Hackett-Dalgliesh was hired as head coach of the RPI men’s lacrosse team in August 2018 and guided the team to a win-loss record of 12-5 in 2019. Prior to this appointment, Hackett-Dalgliesh served as an assistant coach on the lacrosse team at Dartmouth College, where he also maintained recruiting, fundraising, and alumni relations responsibilities. Under his direction, Dartmouth College’s defense was ranked nationally in caused turnovers and saves in 2016. He oversaw the team’s offense during the next two seasons and helped improve its goals per game in both years.

Hackett-Dalgliesh’s additional coaching experience includes a one-year stint as assistant coach at UMass Lowell and three-year tenure as head coach of Marywood University’s Division III program, where he provided on-field instruction to 23 All-CASC players. He also coached at Brown University and Lafayette College, and played at Dickinson College before graduating in 2007.
